One of the most popular surgeries that we perform at our office is a breast augmentation. If you have been debating about whether or not you are going to get a breast augmentation in 2019, you may have several questions including how to tell if you even need one to begin with. To help you narrow down whether or not a breast augmentation is in your future, let’s take a closer look at a few basics.
Am I a Good Candidate?
If you are debating whether or not you’re even a good candidate for this type of surgery, then go through this list and see if you fit any of these bullet points. If you do, schedule your consultation with us:
- You are physically healthy
- You have realistic expectations
- Your breasts are fully developed
- You are bothered by the feeling that your breasts are too small
- You are dissatisfied with your breasts losing shape and volume after pregnancy, weight loss, or with aging
- Your breasts vary in size or shape
- One or both breasts failed to develop normally
What Can I Expect From Surgery?
We always tell our patients to have high hopes and realistic expectations after their breast augmentation. After surgery, you can expect that your breasts will be tender and swollen. To help with both of these things, we may give you either a prescription medication or some over the counter NSAIDs like Ibuprofen. We also encourage all of our breast augmentation patients to take about a full week off of work or everyday activities; that way you give your breasts and body plenty of time to rest.
The best way for you to ultimately decide whether or not a breast augmentation is for you is to come into our office and have a consultation with Dr. Smith. During your consultation, Dr. Smith will show you options, do an exam, answer questions, and help you land on a decision that best meets your needs.
If you want to learn a little bit more about these and other options, make sure that you contact us at our Brooklyn office and call us at (718) 608-1111.
